night shots from this trail, but these are the last. This camera location has
been compromised.
Even though the quality of these pictures is low, they are worthy of posting. The blurry figures you see are traveling surprisingly fast on a remote trail at night, without flashlights or any type of guiding light. This is a popular trail for night travel. A large percentage of illegal alien travel occurs at night and night shots can be very compelling. But until we have more recources we can't afford to make a serious effort to capture them - as much as we would like to. The bright red glow of infrared light emitters makes it difficult to get night shots and the life expectancy of cameras used in this effort can be short. The red glow problem is compounded by the fact that (by necessity) we are using inexpensive cameras whose short range make it necesssary to place the cameras very close to the trail.
